September 11, 2001 was a very frightful and terrible day.  Since that day, the day the twin towers of the World Trade Center were viscously assaulted and destroyed, many people have asked "Where was God?"  Why didn't God stop those horrible acts?

Instead of asking: "Where was God?", we should ask ourselves:  "Where were you?"  How close are we to God the Eternal, the Great , Everlasting One?  God is still here, still willing and able to be a part of our lives.  Do we want God to be a part of our lives?

Where were we on September 11?  We have kicked God out of our lives.  The great Law of God, the Ten Commandments, are ancient history.  God is not welcome in our homes, schools, and communities.

Iniquity is everywhere.   We have white collar crime.  We have blue collar crime.  Thieves and murders run rampant,  not just in the United States, but all across the world.  Homosexuality, which God calls an abomination, is not just accepted in our society, but welcomed even in our schools.  Some High schools have "gay day", Universities have gay clubs.

Abortion, the killing of unwanted babies, is accepted and many times encouraged.  History displays what has happened to those civilizations that have  killed, or sacrificed their babies.  Where are the civilizations of Central and South America that practiced child sacrifices?  Where are those civilizations in the Middle East that sacrificed their children?  We are very hard pressed to find any trace of those civilizations, no matter how large or powerful they may have been.

It doesn't have to be that way with us.  God  is always ready to forgive us and be part of our lives.  We must ask.  "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."  II Chronicles 7:14

We need God to heal us.  This country is sick.  The atrocities committed within the boarders of this great country need to be repented of and changed.  We need to be healed.  Few people today are not or have not been on some sort of medication.  Prescription drugs are constantly being filled and consumed.  We have become a nation of sick people, and we may not realize it.  God can heal us.  God can forgive our sins.  We must draw near to God and He will draw near to us.

If we repent of our sins.  If we change and no longer do the atrocities God condemns then He will protect us.  No harm can come to us when God is for us.  "If thou return to the Almighty, thou shalt be built up, thou shalt put away iniquity far from thy tabernacles.  Then shalt thou lay up gold as dust, and the gold of Ophir as the  stones of the brooks.  Yea, the Almighty shall be thy defense, and thou shalt have plenty of silver.  For then shalt thou have thy delight in the Almighty, and shalt lift up thy face unto God.  Thou shalt make thy prayer unto him, and he shall hear thee, and thou shalt pay thy vows."  (Job 22:23-27)

God is merciful.  He sees what is happening.  He does not delight in human sufferings.  He wants us to be happy and peaceful.  There will be no fear of terrorism.  There will not be fear of being hurt.  There will be no more tears or anguish.  God will live with us.  It is a day that is soon coming.  Jesus Christ will soon return to this earth and dwell with us.  Then, and it will come soon, no one will ask:  "Where is God", because we will all know where God is and who He is.
